This light pink crepe myrtle is breathtaking. It is an old variety and was growing here when we bought the house. Our house is about 90 yrs old so I dream of the original owner planting these beauties long ago..there are 3 of them but only one of them thrives...
I planted this red crepe myrtle in memory of my Mama..it is so slow to bloom this year..Our hardwood trees have grown so much in the past 10 years that shade is creeping in more than I would like...
We are surrounded by trees on all sides with a huge sunny spot in the middle....
And liriope...good old dependable and durable liriope...Probably every southern garden has
some a lot growing in it. It is still one of the plants I am so happy to have in my yard. especially when it starts to send up these spikes in late summer....
What do you have blooming in your late summer garden? Is it still beautiful? The monsoon season seems to be over for now and the flowers are slowly recovering..We have the best crop of grass we have ever had...
Look for the beauty in your day..in your surroundings..It is easy to see the bad and dirty but sometimes we have to look extra carefully to find the beauty...I promise you that it is there somewhere...Challenge yourself to find it...
