Garden Musing

This is mostly visual this morning....As I sat down to read for a few minutes, there was a bull's eye right outside my window...I think you will agree that it is another of nature's masterpieces......

Here are more in the same area..As the sun rose, the light shifted and more were highlighted as others faded into invisibility......fascinating...

the bud of Johnny Jumpups....or spider lilies...

Sweet Annie....

Sedum blooms.....

I have never seen so many spider webs....I am sure there is some folklore to go along with this.  I noticed just yesterday that others are beginning to write  about the harsh winter that is ahead for the east coast..  I do believe that nature is a pretty good predictor of weather patterns...but I am not very good at reading these signs...maybe I should google some of this....when I have some time.....

Thank you for stopping by today...do you have a bull's eye in your garden?

Love,
Mona

Naining and Naining

When my daughter was 2, my parents took her to Six Flags on a camping trip.  It started raining and they were stuck inside looking out at the monsoon.  With not much to entertain a 2 year old, my Mama used the tape recorder to record her granddaughters little voice..she described the weather to Mama in her baby words.the phrase she used over and over was this. It's just naining and naining.. it became one of our family's phrases...

So, today...that is a perfect description of our weather.....

It just has to get warmer soon, doesn't it?

I hope you are having a good weekend and staying warm and dry..

Weather Girl here

Maybe I should become the resident weather girl..seems like it is a big deal lately...but maybe that is just part of the nature of a gardener...anyway, I do love watching the changes that weather brings...it has been so dreary and rainy for several days....
BUT..........

out came the sun and I grabbed my camera for a quick walk around the yard.....

our dry creek is not very dry right now.....water, water, everywhere.......

and here comes the weather change........back to cold and wintry......maybe even some snow.....

Well, I enjoyed the sun while it lasted..all of about 30 minutes...enough to make me smile again.....

and, of course, a few more pictures........

Freaky Weather

This post has been hard fought...I took pictures for a week..different lighting and different angles, etc...and then accidently erased them before any of them were backed up or saved on my computer.....so...you can't keep a good woman down...I went to work on another set of pictures......but a lot of work is floating around out there somewhere in delete heaven.....hahahaha

My yard is confused...fall roses are still hanging on, holly trees are FULL of beautiful red berries, and now the forsythia is blooming....

and the snowdrops are too..the earliest I have ever seen them bloom...

the spirea is blooming

the carolina jasmine is showing yellow...and filled with buds...

and now the crocus is starting to bloom...

and you know what???  they are predicting snow flurries tonight and tomorrow!  so how is that for a little bit of freaky weather?

Here are just a few more weather related pictures.....I am loving my camera and learning a lot...hoping to improve more and more....enjoy the scenery....

I appreciate all of you....thanks for visiting me.....
