Looks can be deceiving

Isn't this lettuce just beautiful?  so cool and refreshing but if you get close enough to it and take a bite, the BITTERNESS overwhelms you...it is now in the compost pile..that is all it is good for

This rose that we call Granny is absolutely beautiful...it blooms all summer and the fragrance is divine..rich and heavy.....BUT...if you get close enough, the thorns will tear a hole in your arm...they are vicious.....all that beauty draws you in but you better watch out!!

This rose is so pretty but if you get close enough to smell, it has NO fragrance at all.and the thorns are awful.....so it is just pretty from afar........

My goal in life is to be who I really am..the woman that is the real thing..all the time..day in and day out...I do not want to have any bitterness that gets you after you get close to me..I had rather not be bitter at all....
I don't want to have any thorns that hurt you if you get close to me.....I had rather be thornless..
and the fragrance, well, I want to have an aroma that draws you in so I can love you...not so I can hurt you.....
I think this is a worthy goal as women..to be sweet, thornless and fragrant..and to be able to love no matter what..

Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
         But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Let them eat cake

Truly it is the little things in life that make it pleasurable....My favorite cake in the world is Spanish Lemon cake baked by Cecelia Villaveces bakery in Athens..  when my birthday nears I start thinking about it..LOL  it is also the cake we had for our wedding cake after we got home from eloping...

Just wanted to share my excitement and anticipation because I just ordered my annual cake for a get together this weekend....cannot wait....

One of the finer things in life.....I discovered these cakes when I was going through my divorce and really needed a sweet spot in my life......I lived on salads and desserts...LOL  but now I limit it to once or twice a year.
