This Present Day

Today I am reposting a blog writing from several years ago....it came across my memories of this day on facebook and as I read it, ...well, I hope you are touched by my words.....

From 4 years ago...........

As I stepped into my yard this morning, this is what I saw....it almost takes my breath away  when I see my yard every day...I am so thankful for this gift from God..it is a dream come true..to have a garden for a yard.  and I love to share it with you....so.....

Let's take a closer look at the things growing here. I hope you enjoy..I know that there is no way I could have done this without Divine intervention in my life..there is a purpose for this place we call Winterpast and we intend to fulfill it...it has become a well watered garden in the midst of a drought and even though it was a pitiful sight when we bought this place 8 years ago...I am a very thankful woman..

this place we live is indeed a case of being in the right place at the right time...this is the time in my life I am supposed to be living on this land growing this garden and most of all ENJOYING it..  there is nothing else that can touch knowing that you are in the place where you are supposed to be, doing the things that you are meant to be doing....that, my friends, is contentment.....

Each of us has a purpose and we will never be satisfied or content until we find the place where we are suppose to be in this life..  Getting to know God and letting Him direct our path is the ONLY way to live a fulfilling life...I do not want to get to the end of my life and say I wish I had lived differently..and I don't want anybody else to experience that either...what a wonderful world this would be if we each found our place and lived our life there...and let everybody else alone....we will be like a grand symphony if we each play our own part...I will let you in on a little secret..when you are NOT living your intended life, you are like a musical instrument that is out of tune...everyone else knows it..and can hear it...so it is so worth pursuing the life and purpose that is tailor made for you...then we will all play and sing in tune with one another.
.
As we looked at these pictures, we focused on individual flowers and things in the garden.. but they all come together to make a big picture..each is beautiful in it's own right but as a whole, it is breathtaking....so, if you are a zinnia, BE A ZINNIA..if you are a bee, be a BEE...if you are a bean, BE A BEAN...

BE WHO YOU ARE MADE TO BE!!!!!!   BE BE BE......what are you meant to be?????answer that question and your life will never be the same..it will be worth it all....

thank you for reading along...and visiting my garden.....see you soon...

Sometimes It Turns Out Really Good

Lately, I have been learning more about my sewing machine.....it's about time..I got a real fancy embroidery machine about 5 years ago....a Husqvarna Viking Designer ..bought it straight out from the dealer..researched them online and went in and told her what I wanted....my reason for not buying this same machine from ebay was that my dealer was only about 4 miles from my house( I could have saved a LOT of money buying from ebay)......I was so excited to get this new computerized machine....and I had a lot to learn but with a teacher right there, well...it would be easy........and guess what.........in just a very short time, she closed her shop....UGH!!!  before I had had the time to take the free lessons that came along with the purchase of this magnificent sewing machine.......so NOW WHAT??????  I am a pretty experienced sewer...Mrs. Bolton and Mrs Lark taught me well in home ec and I have kept it up for many, many years....but this one was way over my head.....I have learned easily how to use it for sewing and a little bit of embroidery...mainly monograms...when I could figure them out..LOL..frankly, this machine kinda intimidates me...but I have a fresh wind of determination to learn it a lot better so that I can get the benefits from having such a wonderful sewing machine to use.......so I am telling you all of this, as if you are interested, to say this.....I made some placemats for my daughter last week...and I was so pleased at how they turned out...I wanted to keep them    mailed them to her so she could use them ....I knew she would love how they looked on her black table..I took a few pictures before packaging them up so you could see how pretty they turned out.......yes, sometimes things turn out better than we expect...a little encouragement to keep up the learning of this sewing machine.....researching monogramming programs is my job right now....so I can add to my experiences..........STILL...cannot believe my dealer closed so soon after I bought this sewing machine......the nearest one is now over an hour away and they never seem very helpful when I go....sigh......thankful for youtube and the internet.....and google........determined to learn this thing.......

So, here is my latest project..........

shoulda used something besides my smartphone camera...sorry about that....but you get the idea.......really sophisticated looking black and white toile.....she has beautiful white dishes that she uses in the summer...can't wait to see her table..

Doing something for others is sometimes just the motivation we need to get us going....when we are stuck.....when we are not familiar with something.....focus on being generous..that will always help......

Happy Sewing to all my fellow sewers.....

Happy Tablescaping to my fellow table setters......

and Happy Giving to ALL of you..........

thank you for stopping by today....hope you enjoyed this table setting.......

the plates, napkins, napkin rings and silverplate were all found at thrift stores or estate sales......
goblets were Dollar Tree finds...

Blessing Others

The thought for this post came to me as I was driving away from  a sweet girl that I have met through facebook..she lives near me and this is the third exchange we have done..We always meet to give something to the other.....

Today, I gave her some of my fabric I have been holding onto for a long time...it was full of good intentions.........grin.. ...BIG GRIN.......

I have decided that I am NOT Wonder Woman like my sweet Will thinks I am....and Mac agrees......LOL

It is time to bless others with some of the things I have in my life.........

So, Lili...thank you...for allowing me to bless you with my fabric....

This is a refreshing way to look at life.  I learned it from FLYLADY..
If you are not familiar with her, here she is  right here

this is one of my favorite habits she helped me to learn......

"Don’t save your clutter for a yard or garage sale; you will be blessed by giving it away."  FLYLADY

Being around so much greed for most of my life..gimme, gimme...mine, mine, mine..what is in this for ME??? etc.

I find this principle to be most refreshing.....GIVE IT AWAY!!   not selling it..or hoarding it...
Find someone that it fits and GIVE it to them...or give it to a charity like Salvation Army..or Project Safe....there is somewhere your stuff can go...you really don't have to try to sell it....

I am married to a really generous man and the things we have been able to give away have been FUN!..I am not talking about just rearranging things around within your family, although our families should most definitely benefit from our generosity.. I am talking about actually giving it to someone with no strings attached...freely give....

We have been regular contributors to our local thrift stores....almost weekly..and the rewards have been tremendous...the bargains I have found while shopping these stores, blows me away....our house is a collection of eclectic furnishings all bought for pennies on the dollar....but I didn't give in order to get..I gave because I wanted to do it...I will give with no expectation for return....given freely...

SO, if you NEED...GIVE!!!   Be generous....give it away and bless others.....and in return,

YOU WILL BE BLESSED BEYOND BELIEF!!!!.

the feelings when someone smiles as you hand them a gift from your home and heart..well, it is indescribable....

I am glad to say, both of my children are givers...they don't try to turn everything into a dollar..they give of their things and of themselves...it makes this Mama proud...

I hope you are encouraged to go around your house and FIND something, even a little something to bless somebody else with..you will be glad you did...and don't give them something you don't like..no, no....give them something you DO like.....and then enjoy how it makes you feel....

It kinda reminds me of this movie

Thank you for stopping by today..I hope you come again soon... and thank you dear Lili for letting me bless you....it was so much fun! your smile is all the repayment I ever need.....there is nothing more beautiful than a grateful heart...

I appreciate each one of you..
