Marvelous MaryElla and the cashmere blanket

My gorgeous and marvelous granddaughter came to visit this weekend...Have I told you that I am in love?

She was deep in conversation with her Mama.....a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e  she was making all of us laugh out loud....

I finally made her a cashmere blanket from upcycled sweaters...I have been working on it for years.. but now I have a muse...MaryElla...... and that makes sewing easier..

One of the reasons she is so special to me is that I had resigned myself to only having grandsons..and getting a granddaughter after 3 boys..well, pretty darn amazing to me!  and my son has 2 stepsons now so that means she is the lone girl in the midst of 5 boys...

I promise to try NOT to spoil her or to shower her with more girly things than she can imagine...grin..wink, wink

Most definitely 'getting my girl on'  lately..Yes, indeed.  it is nice to have a granddaughter...

I hope you enjoyed my precious girl and her new blanket..  now, what can I make next?

Blessing Others

The thought for this post came to me as I was driving away from  a sweet girl that I have met through facebook..she lives near me and this is the third exchange we have done..We always meet to give something to the other.....

Today, I gave her some of my fabric I have been holding onto for a long time...it was full of good intentions.........grin.. ...BIG GRIN.......

I have decided that I am NOT Wonder Woman like my sweet Will thinks I am....and Mac agrees......LOL

It is time to bless others with some of the things I have in my life.........

So, Lili...thank you...for allowing me to bless you with my fabric....

This is a refreshing way to look at life.  I learned it from FLYLADY..
If you are not familiar with her, here she is  right here

this is one of my favorite habits she helped me to learn......

"Don’t save your clutter for a yard or garage sale; you will be blessed by giving it away."  FLYLADY

Being around so much greed for most of my life..gimme, gimme...mine, mine, mine..what is in this for ME??? etc.

I find this principle to be most refreshing.....GIVE IT AWAY!!   not selling it..or hoarding it...
Find someone that it fits and GIVE it to them...or give it to a charity like Salvation Army..or Project Safe....there is somewhere your stuff can go...you really don't have to try to sell it....

I am married to a really generous man and the things we have been able to give away have been FUN!..I am not talking about just rearranging things around within your family, although our families should most definitely benefit from our generosity.. I am talking about actually giving it to someone with no strings attached...freely give....

We have been regular contributors to our local thrift stores....almost weekly..and the rewards have been tremendous...the bargains I have found while shopping these stores, blows me away....our house is a collection of eclectic furnishings all bought for pennies on the dollar....but I didn't give in order to get..I gave because I wanted to do it...I will give with no expectation for return....given freely...

SO, if you NEED...GIVE!!!   Be generous....give it away and bless others.....and in return,

YOU WILL BE BLESSED BEYOND BELIEF!!!!.

the feelings when someone smiles as you hand them a gift from your home and heart..well, it is indescribable....

I am glad to say, both of my children are givers...they don't try to turn everything into a dollar..they give of their things and of themselves...it makes this Mama proud...

I hope you are encouraged to go around your house and FIND something, even a little something to bless somebody else with..you will be glad you did...and don't give them something you don't like..no, no....give them something you DO like.....and then enjoy how it makes you feel....

It kinda reminds me of this movie

Thank you for stopping by today..I hope you come again soon... and thank you dear Lili for letting me bless you....it was so much fun! your smile is all the repayment I ever need.....there is nothing more beautiful than a grateful heart...

I appreciate each one of you..
