Photography in the Fall

For some reason as the temperatures cool and the garden goes to sleep, I turn to photography.  I always take so many pictures in the fall.  Maybe it's because I have more time.  Maybe because of the lull for a moment between the end of summer and the beginning of Thanksgiving. Whatever the reason, I thought I would share some random photos.

Just a few glimpses into life.  We had an awfully hard week.  After nursing our dog Tula for many weeks, we said goodbye to her last Monday.  It was indeed a heartbreaker for us.  She has been my most photographed dog. She was so very photogenic.  We are missing her in many ways but life goes on.  We are sad but not defeated...  I will leave you with a few of our girl Tula...

Inspiration..my Blog Anniversary

Well, well...  it has actually been 9 whole years since the very small, scary beginning.
I knew I wanted to write a blog and share my life but didn't know much about doing that.  still don't..
I keep the blog up and limping along because I still love to share things but just don't have the time to sit in front of a computer anymore.   One of my favorite sayings is...

Since I have greatly expanded my gardens, they have become my priority over the last few years. Hopefully as I get them planted, I will have time to share.
Enough of that...  LOL

Thinking back over the years as a blogger, I have learned so much.  photography, tablescaping, when to keep my mouth shut..haha  that was a hard one.  I have made some great friends ad watched as this blogging community has grown and changed.  some of it still baffles me.  I am not a computer geek at all.  not even a little bit.  It is all hard learned for me..

Words are not adequate for thanking you all..  Every single time any of you have told me that I inspire you, I am humbled and overwhelmed...and so happy that you saw something you liked..
You inspire me..  E.V.E.R.Y time you tell me that..  I am very grateful.

The sun is shining and the garden is beckoning.. but first, a few pictures.

Really, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Little did I know that I was developing my style as I set these tables through the years..

And just like that, I have spent more than 2 hours putting this blog post together.  It is a joy, a time consuming one..But I am not going anywhere.

Again, THANK YOU to all of you..

Love, Mona

Thinking Out Loud

I really wish I had something clever to say.  Something profound and life changing.  That is not the case lately.  The older I get, the less I like to hear myself talk just for the sake of talking.

I like to paint a picture with photography.  Meaningful parables caught with a camera.  I am a very vision oriented person.  Maybe it is because of my needing to wear glasses from the age of 3 or maybe, just maybe it is a gift.  The way I see things.

Morning musings here.

I hope y'all are having a good day. Looking forward to springtime.

Love,
Mona

Photography

When I saw a post on one of my facebook friend's page about clover, I remembered how we used to love making crowns and bracelets from it.  Tara, this one is for you...As soon as I saw this clover I thought of you and made this crown for you....

Photography captures a moment in time and we can revisit as many times as we wish....
I have really enjoyed learning my Canon 6D camera.  I have several lenses and try to learn them all..
These pictures were taken with my new Canon 100mm macro.  It is turning out to be an absolutely awesome lens....

Do you have a camera that you are afraid to use?  Get it out and take some pictures..You will be surprised at how quickly you can learn photography if you are not afraid to try..

Mona

Friday Flowers #13

OK..  I am officially in love with my new Canon lens..  It has been a hard go but this morning glory picture did it for me.    and I don't even know why but when I saw this picture, I knew I had not made a mistake in choosing this lens..  I know, I know..this is a post about flowers...but...if I did not learn photography, I could not show them to you...So I strive to get better and better so you can see the flowers...
These are taken using a Canon  EF 70-200mm 1:4L...

I am still pinching myself about this porch addition.  I can hardly believe we have it.  I am so thankful and cannot wait to live out here this fall...  and it also makes a great backdrop to my pictures.

If you are wanting to get better at photography, practice, practice, practice..

I learned an awful lot with my Canon Rebel and the kit lens before I moved up to my Canon 6D and started buying specific lenses....  Photography is a very rewarding hobby..
I hope you have a hobby that you love and have fun pursuing..  and that keeps you learning and growing....

What do you pursue?
One last thing...we had a most precious visitor this weekend....y'all......well, I'll just show you......

And that's all folks.....  I will leave you with a big smile from MaryElla..   Y'all have a good week..

Love,
Mona and MaryElla
