Mushroom Beauty

With all of the rain we have had this summer, there is a new type of plant growing in our yard....mushrooms...
Lots and lots of mushrooms....I guess they have just been lying underneath the ground dormant for years..I don't know very much about them except they are pretty....

These pictures were all taken at the end of the day when the sun starts to act just right for photography....some call it the golden hour......It gives the earth a rich and beautiful depth to the colors.....Once again, I am calling attention to a detail that we can easily find if we just look for it.....golden light on brown, tan, and white mushrooms...The colors are worthy of being a pallette for an entire room...or tablescape.  wink, wink..Diane and Alycia...there are your browns.....

Next, a few photos taken in early morning when I first went outside and the camera lens fogged up...interesting to me...hope you like it too.....

Have you ever thought about getting your color inspiration from nature?  All of the colors of paint in my house..inside and outside were taken from nature..with green and gray being the strong influences....It's another whole blog about the gorgeous grays in a stormy sky... But for today, it's the browns of mushrooms and mulch. not the store bought mulch, but the natural kind....real bark..Find the color schemes in nature around you and DREAM......in color....

Thank you for stopping by..I hope to see you again soon..

Pinkness of my Yard

If you asked me if pink was my favorite color, I would say no...I like the color a lot but not my favorite......

But if the proof is in the pudding, you might disagree with me...Everywhere I look in my yard, there is pink!!

Maybe this is the year I will add some different colors for spring...Enjoy!

My girl, Bonnie, keeping an eye on me......

This impatiens seed came up in a potted fern I brought in last fall....even IT is pink!

Off to search for some colors to compliment all of my PINK!!

By the way, my Daddy's favorite color is pink and so was my Grandmother Lewis'......something about the apple not falling far from the tree comes to mind..  wink, wink

It is so nice to have so many new visitors stopping by...I appreciate each and every one of you....Your comments make my day...thank you, thank you...

Taking Inside Pictures

Sometimes when I am scrolling through the many pictures on Pinterest, I come upon an actually helpful Pin..

This morning was that kind of morning.  as some of you know, I am learning a new camera...my first DSLR.
And it does have it's challenges, especially when taking indoor pictures...
A little known fact..my dining room has NO windows...that's right NONE..NADA...it is located in the center of our house and has big openings to all of the other rooms so is not completely dark but.....to say the least, it has been a real challenge to take pictures in there..  and there are so many blogs about tablescapes that I would like to participate in but the quality has not been good enough....  so that is my sad story...LOL

This morning, it finally clicked as I read someone's blog about White Balance and Aperture......I am not good enough to teach you but will show you my first attempts with these new settings.....inside on a cloudy day...pretty good, don't you think?

I am so excited to see the colors of my china turn out as their true colors ....I know there is still a lot of experimenting but just wanted to show you these pictures...Maybe, just maybe I can now do a tablescape and be pleased with the colors.......

Anybody ready for a tea party?
