First Day of School....

All I can think about this morning is my oldest grandson Will...it is his first day of first grade...and I know it is an important step in his little life..excited and nervous, he forges ahead.  I know he will do great but does he know that??  I hope so.  I pray that his teachers will see the potential in him and encourage him to be all that he is meant to be.  and to help him succeed along his path in life...

Looking back, I simply cannot believe that the years have passed so quickly..

What a joy to be the grandmother to this wonderful little boy that made me a grandparent for the first time..forever changed..and in love .....

Will, I love you and I am so proud of you!    Love, Honey

Out with the turkeys, In with the reindeer

Will and Mac made the place cards

Well, it is certainly time to shift gears around this house!  I have spent the weekend trying to plan out a direction for decorating for Christmas...I have pulled out ALL of my decorations so I can see what I have and donate any that I am not going to use anymore.  I have collected for more than ..well, A LONG time....and the majority of the decorations are vintage and some really old things....and now I have to keep in mind that 3 curious little boys will love being able to touch all of the Christmas things...so...one more post to kinda clean up my pictures from Thanksgiving and the pictures that I meant to share but haven't yet.....I hope you enjoy...it's kinda lengthy but we had a lot of fun...now...without further adieu.....

act like that aluminum pan is NOT on there
Jon and Michelle and a better view of the pan that is NOT on the buffet...LOL

all set

there's something special about a 5 yr old's handwriting.

love these people...

when Will looks at me like this, well....never knew love like this before

Jon and Michelle listening intently to Betsy...we could name this portion CROSSFIRE!

PIE!

Marshall thoroughly enjoyed his meal..

the other side of crossfire.....
and now that all of the thanksgiving festivities have been shared , it is time to move on to the Christmas season.....

confused cactus.....Christmas or Thanksgiving??

the jeweled balls are OUT...some from my childhood but most from later collecting or ones I made..
and now I will move into posting about Christmas....I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful  and filled with family and thankfulness...we have come a long way in 17 years..but that is another post for another time...

I really appreciate your taking the time to stop by and share in my life with me.....I am amazed at how far reaching this little blog has been...so again, thank you...and I hope to see you again soon..

Our grandson Will

Today is a day that certainly changed our lives forever...five years ago...we became grandparents..
NOW I understand a whole lot more about my own Grandmother than I ever did before.  :-)
We officially became Honey and Poppy....what a wonderful, awesome very good day that was......
Will was born...he came into this world at a whopping 11 lbs.14 oz.. healthy as can be...loved as much as any baby has ever been loved...and just absolutely changed and rearranged out lives and hearts.....
Here is my very first look at him and the first time I held him..probably my favorite picture of all time..I was absolutely overwhelmed with love for him..
becoming Honey

becoming Poppy

Four year old Will and Uncle Jon

at 5....

What a joy he is to us...he can melt my heart with just a little grin...and especially when he says my name....
I never knew just how special being a Grandmother would be, but now I get it...there are literally some little people in this world I would give my life for...

                    HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL!!!!!!!

you see, the week that started out as perfectly horrible and heart wrenching  ended with an absolutely perfect ending....our hearts were expanded with a love like we had never known before.....

THIS is certainly a sure word ..........

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Thank you for visiting today....let's all celebrate Will....

Mac the Adventurer

Well, I have just had an overnight visit with my daughter and her three sons..yes, you read right..three little boys--all under 5 years old.....

As we were getting everybody out the door to go to McDonald's for lunch..in the blink of an eye...literally......
Mac had applied this monster face makeup.....LOL

monster face Mac
At least that is what he called it....but isn't he adorable??

and here is big brother Will all strapped in and ready to go.

holder of my heart right here...
Marshall's carseat faces backwards so I didn't get a picture of him today....
We had a fun lunch and came back to Honey's House to get their things...Mac was standing at the doggie gate saying something over and over to me...I couldn't understand what he was saying so I went in there and lo and behold!!!!!!!

Blue Maggie

aftermath of Mac's marker
The dogs had blue all over their feet and head......and the only remains of the marker that Mac had shared with them before we went to lunch was a little bit of blue felt from inside the marker.  who knows where the rest of it went....someone chewed it to pieces.....while we were gone...

So for all of you Mamas of little ones I hope you get a laugh out of this one.......because that is the best way to handle this kind of adventure....no one died and no one was bleeding and no one had to go to the hospital so all is good!!!    and I got a really good belly laugh.....even little Mac made several people smile in McDonald's with his monster makeup...so be careful not to squoosh their creativity...a little marker never hurt anybody.....

this was just too good to keep to myself..I hope you enjoyed it.....My grandsons are so absolutely wonderful and amazing and I could not love them anymore than I do...and I ALWAYS laugh out loud when I am around them.....Boys, I love you with all my heart....

thank you for visiting today....and I hope your weekend is a good one....
