Is Anybody Home?

Have you ever thought about what it looks like to others when we are full of light?  Of how the light from within dispels the darkness that is around us?  that light is a powerful force.....it invites others to come close..to have a look...to see what it is that makes us glow.....

light from within
That is what I started thinking about when I saw this picture taken around dusk of the view into our family room.
The room where we do most of our living....really, my favorite room in our house...I have watched many movies in this room, prayed a lot of prayers, read a lot of books, done some knitting, read a whole lot of newspapers and loved a lot of people that came into this room and shared life with us..

when I look at these windows, I automatically look past the window panes..I want to see what is inside...the warmth of the golden light draws me in..it looks homey and safe....that is the kind of woman I want to be..
it is what I reference in my blog title.....the hidden art of homemaking..  it is the person behind it all that is the hidden art..the kind of woman I am makes the kind of home I make....and I want to always give off the light within...that light can only come from one place...HIM...He gives it to me......

looks like nobody's home
The very same window without the light is not very inviting..it does not draw me in...there is not much worth looking in for....it is pretty much just a window..
Do you see how important what is inside of is?   it is the light or the darkness that is within us that influences our world....the ones that are around us......we can either dispel the darkness with the light we carry or we can be useless because there is nothing inside...just a void....

I want to spread light...what about you?

  2. Mona,

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I've read through you August postings and am glad your comment led me here. What a peaceful, beautiful home you have.

I fully agree about letting our light shine. And when we keep our focus on Him & His ways....well He blesses us by letting us in on "doing His works." It's an amazing, wonderful life we lead when Following Him...but I wouldn't want it any other way.
