Friday Flowers #4

Recently we visited this gorgeous field of flowers in the mountains.  We have been there before and I wrote about it here .

These flowers never cease to amaze me..dahlias, zinnias, hydrangeas..  and the weeds.  Yes, I said weeds....

 When I was editing the new pictures, I realized how many weeds were showing up in this field of flowers..At first, I was going to delete all the pictures that showed weeds but that would be almost ALL of them...  So, I started to ponder..Even in our beautiful and happy lives we have some weeds..
All of us do...  Most of the bloggers out there delete any and all of our pictures that might show anything less than perfection...  Well, I am not one of those bloggers..  You just might   will always get some weeds in my blogging...

The beauty of the flowers far out weigh any distraction of the weeds.. See, you are now looking for the weeds.  LOL  don't do that!  Focus on the beauty of the mountains and the flowers..

The test of the weeds is this...  DO NOT focus on what is bad...focus on what is good....
the silver lining thing...  You know..there is always something positive that you can find.  I am not saying deny the truth but I am saying don't let the negative take over your perspective...

I think we all NEED to leave the weeds in our pictures so that others can see them too..and know that we are not perfect.  Just beautiful in our own being...that whole REAL LIFE perspective..

Well, that turned a real negative into a positive.  I am positive that these flowers are absolutely stunning....

Field of flowers

I found this post from a few years ago and thought it was so appropriate for right now..Maybe some of you have not seen it before..and since we are in the midst of zinnia season, I hope you enjoy my words and pictures this morning...

Every once in a while a dream becomes a reality..I mean the vision kind...something that you have seen in your heart and dreamed about one day seeing in real time...Yesterday, that very thing happened to me....we were in the mountains around Clayton GA and rode up to an overlook at the Dillard House..and lo and behold right there...there it was!!! something I have seen in my mind a million times...row after row of blooming ZINNIAS..

I could not wait to get out with my camera and get in the middle of them..here are a few pictures..experiencing them was so much better but I hope you can get a glimpse of this summertime flower......one day, in my own yard, I will plant row after row of zinnias.

I just love it when something happens like this.totally unexpected..a little life gift...just riding along a mountain road and WHAM!! just like that..a suddenly...I am right upon something that I have only dreamed about...that is what life is like...make good choices and don't ever stop....PERSEVERE and just when you least expect it..there is total and complete BREAKTHROUGH! what I saw in my heart broke through and I saw with my eyes..I was not looking for it but when I saw it, I KNEW this is IT!!!!! what I had only dreamed about...

What are your dreams??? they don't have to be spectacular..they can be as simple as a field of zinnias...or they can be as big as a children's hospital..the point is...KEEP ON KEEPING ON...when you least expect it, it happens..it might just be right around the next curve in the road...or right up that little hill...

Dreams are good things..they give us hope...don't let anyone steal your dreams...even if they seem unrealistic..that's okay..they are DREAMS!!

Blue Ridge Parkway

We took a trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway a few weeks ago...As you can see, the scenery is spectacular.  there were not many leaves on the trees so we could see for many, many miles...and the sky was crystal clear...a wonderful drive between Asheville, NC and Waynesville, NC...this part also includes the highest peak of the parkway...if you have never been, it is so worth the trip...We went in early April so there was not much blooming...just us, the mountains, and the road...a great big beautiful wonderful park........

For some reason, as soon as we reached this highest elevation point and took our pictures, I didn't take any more pictures....LOL

I hope you have enjoyed this ride in the mountains....so beautiful and peaceful... it was the perfect ending to my birthday trip...

Asheville

We just got back from a wonderful few days in beautiful Asheville, NC.  It is definitely one of my favorite towns.  surrounded by mountains and never any lack of people watching...a welcome place for anyone who is a free spirit..It is where I chose to celebrate my BIG birthday......

and there she is......Asheville....come on and let's visit the streets....

I took so many pictures because everywhere I looked, there was beauty.  I hope you can get the feel of the town through them ..I will only comment on a few...it is truly a magical place to visit...

our friend John Cleaveland has several paintings at Blue Spiral and it was exciting to get to see them here..

 there are street musicians everywhere....and they are good....

 this building was fabulous..a couple stopped to talk while I was taking pictures because they wanted to know what we were looking at..LOL   Bryan talked, I photographed.....

Asheville...ahhhhh...you are special to me....
