Blue Ridge Parkway

We took a trip along the Blue Ridge Parkway a few weeks ago...As you can see, the scenery is spectacular.  there were not many leaves on the trees so we could see for many, many miles...and the sky was crystal clear...a wonderful drive between Asheville, NC and Waynesville, NC...this part also includes the highest peak of the parkway...if you have never been, it is so worth the trip...We went in early April so there was not much blooming...just us, the mountains, and the road...a great big beautiful wonderful park........

For some reason, as soon as we reached this highest elevation point and took our pictures, I didn't take any more pictures....LOL

I hope you have enjoyed this ride in the mountains....so beautiful and peaceful... it was the perfect ending to my birthday trip...

I am sharing my trip with   Oh, the Places I've Been        come and visit.....

  1. Delightful and peaceful. I love the mountains and likely will not get up there this year except for CC's college which somehow does not count.

  2. Fabulous pictures of the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. We live just to the west of it. We've driven from the Shenandoah Valley almost all the way south on the parkway. A lovely but somewhat slow trip. But well worth the delays.

I'm visiting from the Tablecaper. Hope you have a great weekend.

  4. What a great birthday present :)!! I haven't been really traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway yet. My dream is to go there during the fall season for some leaf peeping. Enjoyed all your pictures!

  6. Just beautiful! I've never been to the Carolinas but my son-in-law is in the military and my daughter is hoping their next assignment is in Charleston so maybe a drive like this is in my future!

  12. Hi kindred spirit. I know this was a great trip. Yes, so beautiful and peaceful. We made a similar trip last November and I felt the same way you did.

I want to participate in the Places I have been so much but I have been extremely busy with some house renovations and family visiting. I need to get busy.

I enjoyed your scenery and love the picture of you. You look so happy.
