Y'all thought I was talking about vegetables, didn't you? Well, not around here...mostly talking about flowers lately.
I love this color of teal for the fall...it goes so nicely with all the other autumnal hues....I bought these dinner plates just for the color. They were a Salvation Army find a few weeks ago..and the flowered dishes are some that we use everyday. we have many pieces in several sizes....
The flowered dishes
The teal plates
I like to use candles for the colors they can bring to a table..I am always on the lookout for nice ones when shopping at thrift stores...but make sure you check out the smell...some are B.A.D!!! LOL
Unscented are my favorite for the table but I can't always find the right color in unscented...I have a whole cabinet of pillar candles that I have picked up for a song... and ALWAYS get the small white pillars.......
Terra Cotta linen napkins with clear acrylic napkin rings.. I thought they went well with the glasses...
Some marbles in a glass brick that came from my Grandmother Lewis.. she collected everything to use for flower arranging and was so imaginative with how she used it....
I love the simplicity of this table and how the light catches different surfaces. We will enjoy this arrangement until it fades...and then maybe another color of mums will be blooming...
The little majolica footed bowl has no markings on it and I don't know if it is old or not..but I LOVE it and use it all the time..
This is a good weeknight tablescape and anybody can do something like this with what you have at home. just get some flowers and go from there.. I used mixed silverplate silverware.....I know, but I like the way that sounds. grin...
Come and visit all the others where I am sharing....

My inspiration for this table came from my garden..These beautiful mums that are beginning to bloom. It must be an early variety since it is the only one blooming right now and I have lots and lots of chrysanthemums in our yard.

Hi Mona! Your table is beautiful! I love your dishes and how the sun is shinging through. That container for your flowers is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
What gorgeous colors on your table!!! Your mums are beautiful!!! I just love the dishes and the contrast of the teal and terra cotta!!! Stunning color combinations!!!! Well done!!!!
ReplyDeleteTeal and orange go together so beautifully. You have created a very pleasing tablescape.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous table Mona! Glad you found me, I'm having a 2 year blogging giveaway, so make sure you go to that post and sign up.
ReplyDeleteWill follow you too
Keeping this short because I hate typing on my phone, lol. Pam
Mona, you are so alliterative - lol!! I like the way "silverplate silverware" sounds, too! Your post is beautiful - the light in this one reminds me of a fine old Dutch painting. You are definitely becoming an artist with that camera. Love all of the dishes - Syracuse is one of my favorite manufactures. They made so many interesting patterns and they are not horribly expensive. Your mums are really pretty and the Majolica bowl is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour table looks so pretty, Mona. I love the teal plates and especially with your footed vase. It's starting to look like Fall is arriving at your house! You do find the best bargains while thrifting. The white crocheted tablecloth is gorgeous. Is that thrifted, too? xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! Your table is full of pretty details from the dishes to the garden flowers. Love the Majolica dish you have the fall mums in. Each image is stellar, especially the ones with the sunlight and shadows.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty table, Mona. Those plates are a beautiful color, and I love that flower container. The plates look like they were made to go with it. I love to buy potted mums, but I've never been able to get them to grow outside. Yours are so pretty. I really like the way the napkin rings match the crystal. laurie
ReplyDeleteYour mums are gorgeous, Mona. The whole table is sweet, love the floral plates...Christine
ReplyDeleteMona, the orange flowers from your garden are the perfect punch for the blue plates and pick up the fun flowers on them. Beautiful! Our flowers are on the shabby side by now - they didn't get a lot of care this year and then last weekend we had a hurricane style storm that stripped everything.
ReplyDeleteLovely setting and the teal is the perfect compliment to your pretty mums!

This is absolutely beautiful. Those dishes are wonderful with those flowers...perfect fit. I love that urn with your flowers.
ReplyDeleteThat color combo is just GREAT! Your majolica bowl is fabulous, I would use it all the time too, and it is perfect with the burnished orange mums. The teal plates are perfect with it~beautiful late summer table! My garden looks pretty sick right now!! As do my flowers, much work to do outside this weekend!
