Learning to FLY!

A few days ago, I took my lunch outside and sat down to eat..   Just as I got settled, I saw this cute little bird about 6 feet from me ...

As every good blogger does...LOL  I rushed back inside to get my camera.....and was able to get a few shots of this amazing part of a little bird's life.....

We had been watching the nest in our carport for a few weeks so to get to see them actually fly for the first time was thrilling....

birdie number 2 as he surveys the outside......

right before he jumps into the air......

he landed on the top of my car and sat there for a while....

then he flew to this perch....

By this time, mom and dad bird were closing in on me and making quite a fuss so I put the camera down and went inside so they could get all 3 off the ground without any problems....It was quite a moment for me because I don't think I have ever seen little birds actually leaving the nest..

So fun to really witness a true miracle....they just knew how to fly..and they JUMPED and were flying through the air.......

May I never be a woman that just stands at the little opening to the nest and looks around...too afraid to take that first leap of faith and FLY!!!!

JUMP   ladies......and FLY!!!!!!

it was amazing to see........

  1. That is amazing! What wonderful photographs and message (as always). The funny thing is that I was cutting blooms off of the geraniums on my front porch this afternoon and found an empty bird's nest in one of them. I have no idea, if the birds built it, after we bought the plants or if the nest was already in there. Either way, the birdies have flown!!

  2. Mona,
Aaaahhh, sweet little bird. I love bird watching, but often times they fly away too quickly to get good pictures of them. I did see a nest today, and it was a sight. I'm so glad to find someone who loves birds as much as I do.

    Have a nice Wednesday.

    Love,
