Welcome Spring Easter Table

This is my very favorite time of year....Easter...Spring....our anniversary..and both mine and my husband's birthdays.......

We start getting into celebration mode about the end of March and just stay there until the middle of April or until after Easter......

This year Easter is early so the bunny table comes first.....Easter means new life...resurrection life...and the first blooms of spring bring that to the table.....

The bunnies bring back so many memories.  I started with this little fella when I turned 13....

My parents threw a dance for me and a friend with close birthdays...Her aunt made a cake with 2 bunnies on top...We each took one home and it has been with me ever since.....Isn't he just beautiful?

The china I am using is varied this time.....  the white plates are Coalport Countryware..and the fruit bowls are Haviland Limoges...both found at a thrift store years ago...the crystal is unknown..also from thrift store and so was the silverplate.  I happened upon a huge find at my local Salvation Army store many years ago..it was more than 8 place settings of silverplate and a huge amount of this Haviland china...I was a happy camper.  I remember almost giggling when I found it...My friend Doris, that ran the store, was almost as happy as I was....sweet memories of shopping at her store..I practically furnished my house from that store....

Now, back to the table.....the purple floral plates belonged to my Mamama..as did the pink depression glass..and the teacups......oh, the teacups........

As Mamama (grandmother) began to get older and I lived several hours away from her, she started to give me things when I visited her...She wanted to make sure I got what she wanted me to have...her teacups were one of the main things she made sure I had...  Every time I would visit, she would say..Pick out some of the cups and take them with you...so I did...they are such a treasure to me now.  She started her collection when  a friend of hers would travel to Canada every summer and bring one back for Mamama..and gradually the collection was built.
One day MaryElla will get these cups from me...and the tradition will be passed on....

A little vase that I trimmed with jewelry..makes a nice touch for flower arranging....

All of the flowers came from my yard.. It is starting to come alive out there..lots of pinks this time of year...

Wow..this is getting way too lengthy...so many memories are stirred up in the spring....I'll save some for next week.....

I hope you enjoyed our table

Happy Easter to you..

Come over and visit where I am sharing this week....so many beautiful blogs to discover.....

  8. First, I want to say that I read your "About Me" section, and I applaud you for continuing to "date" your husband throughout the years. My husband and I also still "date" after nearly 22 years together, and it is the key to keeping the love fresh and fun. I love it when he calls me up and asks me out for an evening! I get all excited and start worrying about what to wear...it's the best! So kudos to you and your husband for that! Now, on to the fabulous table! Perhaps because this is your favorite time of year, your table is SO alive! The joy you find in this time of year really shines through! I love the mix of patterns that all work in concert, and your cherished bunnies are a fun part of the whole look. I have some of that vase jewelry, too, and I love it! You did a wonderful job with it here. It's always so pretty when it's not skimpy!!! Your flowers came from your yard??!?!?!?!! They are fabulous! Just fabulous!!! In about 10 hours or so, we will once again have snow on the ground here in the Kansas City, MO area, so no flowers for a long, long time. That's for sure!!! I am just thrilled to see such a gorgeous table, and I wish you and your husband many more wonderful dates and a great weekend!

  10. What a gorgeous table! I love the mixed china patterns, and that very first teacup is SO beautiful! I love cups with a pattern inside. I'm impressed you have so many different pink flowers blooming in your yard! Our family is the opposite -- all our "occasions" are in the fall. I know you love having so many of your Mamama's favorite things.
