View from my chair

This is the view from my chair in our living room....It took me almost 7 years to put this room together.  :-)  it was a very YUKKY room by the former owners...I think I had a mental block about this room..it was used as their bedroom.  LOL
and then when Bryan started working from home, I turned it into a kinda halfway office....then last summer we started talking about adding a woodstove to our home....we talked and talked..mainly Bryan trying to talk me into wanting one.  :-)  so I sorta kinda started working on the front room...and fell in love with the space....we moved out the office furniture and I found an Ethan Allen leather loveseat at the local Salvation Army for $20...yep...bargain......and the scene was set..I went from there...I love the way it has turned out....most of the things in here are from my thrift store shopping except for the trunk as coffee table which was my Grandmother Lewis'..the oriental rug we bought on a date one night...HAHA..before we were married...everything in the room has a story as do most of the things in our house.....

I will move my knitting into this room and some current books and magazines and put some records on the record player and ENJOY this room...Last year we finally claimed this room as a living room, not wasted space....

and yesterday was the first day cold enough to build a fire in our wood stove which I absolutely LOVE....
I hope you like the view from my chair....it is a nice, peaceful place to sit and ponder......
if you don't have a place that you call your own, maybe this can spark a desire to make one for yourself....
I am very thankful for a warm fire and a cozy living room...what are you thankful for?

  1. I am thankful for so many things but alas, having a space for myself is not one of them. :-( Someday!

I am thankful for you, dear Mona!
