Well, y'all....it is now 6:42 and I am just getting to the computer to write this post....The last 2 days have been a whirlwind of unexpected activity for me...All is well and we have health insurance for the first time in 6 years and my son's dental emergency has been taken care of and he is home resting with his sweet wife.. Only after many insurance related phone calls.....and waiting in an oral surgeon's office...but I was determined to write this post..LOL
And now I am fixing to visit some of you after I write this post..
Whew Whee Doggie!!!!! and Thanksgiving is in ONE week.... and we will be ready...
I will add flowers next week and the silverware will be silverplate. I really like the brown wool plaid with the Johnson Brothers Historic America dishes..
I embroidered the napkins a couple of years ago with acorns and leaves because that is what is on the rim of the plates...
A few turkeys and white candles mixed with some pewter for the centerpiece....not completed but a work in progress.....and really wanting to join in tonight..so this is what I have...
The brown glasses are Imperial Williamsburg..I use them often in the fall....
And there you have my incomplete table..but sometimes it is better to use what you have than nothing at all..I am definitely not a perfectionist..wink, wink...
thank you so much for stopping by......
Happy Thanksgiving..
Love, Mona
I am joining these parties this week...come and visit...

Oh Mona, your table just says THANKSGIVING! The wool, plaid table covering, the JB dishes, your pretty goblets... well, it's just welcoming and cozy.
ReplyDeleteI also loved the pics from your previous post... too cute! Happy Thanksgiving and xo.
The browns are so beautiful at this time of year!
ReplyDeleteOur Thanksgiving is over (Canadian) but I'm wishing I could go back and recreate something like what you've done for my table! Love the browns you've used in the dishes/stemware and the plaid tablecloth is a wonderful backdrop. How talented you are to embroider the napkins! Great accent to the dishes.

Mona - your Thanksgiving table will be amazing. Obviously, I love all of the brown! I have a wonderful plaid blanket that I purchased in Scotland and your have inspired me to use it in a tablescape one of these days. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your sweet family!
ReplyDeleteLove your Johnson Bros. dishes. Beautiful table!
ReplyDeleteMona,
ReplyDeleteYou have such a talent for detail and an eye for aesthetic whimsy! I love how you have arranged it all, on that beautiful and cozy plaid cover, and the embroidered acorns on your napkins to complement the plates...so creatively cute and a winning touch!
Have a wonderful and peaceful Thanksgiving, my friend!

Such a warm, welcoming table, Mona. I love the wool tablecloth and your embroidered napkins are PERFECT!! I use Johnson Bros. at Thanksgiving, also, and your tablescape now has me thinking about brown goblets. A wonderful job! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
ReplyDeleteHi there, Mona! When I saw that your plan is to use pewter for the centerpiece, I clapped my hands a little bit. PERFECT choice! It really will ground the table and give it true Thanksgiving appeal! I LOVE the tablecloth. It's very serene, but it packs a wallop because of both the plaid pattern and the rich fall colors. The embroidery work on your napkins is really pretty! Well done!!! I'm glad to hear your son is feeling better and that everything worked out OK. As for dealing with the insurance stuff...God bless ya, baby! That's a real experience each and every time! ;-) Thanks for taking the time out to share with us, and have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat tartan is beautiful...and so perfect with the dishes. ♥ the napkins.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week, Mona!
Lovely table!!! I really do like the tablecloth with your dishes!! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteGood to read your post! Your table is lovely as always. I am intrigued by your pewter cups. I love the brown historic america transferware.
ReplyDeleteToday, I realized i had a blue platter in the historic america series of Washington, D.C. Crazy how I realized I had it. It sits up high in a bookcase and I had to take everything down for gas logs to be installed. I had a lot of clean up to do but it was fun to realize the history of the platter.
I love your embroidered napkins most of all and the plaid blanket /tablecloth. Your textures make for a lovely table. I do wish you a blessed Thanksgiving.
Very pretty! I love your dishes and the beautiful plaid tablecloth! Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteThe beautiful Historic America chia is wonderful to be used this time of year. The plaid tablecloth has a wonderful hue and rustic feel. The turkey s/p is very similar to a set I used in my Thanksgiving tablescape this week. Have a great week!

Just wonderful table composition Mona. I do love brown transfer ware so much. Happy Thanksgiving my friend. xo, olive
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful table! Having such décor at Thanksgiving adds a lot to enjoying the meal. The Johnson Bros dishes are perfect for this season. I have a cup and saucer from this pattern, but wish I had more as it looks so beautiful on your table. Have a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHi Mona, thanks so much for visiting me and your sweet comments. You said my dishes remind me of your grandmother, I have a Tang pitcher that makes me think of mine because she made a yummy concoction of Tang and lemonade, so I know what you mean! I LOVE your dishes! I've never heard of Johnson Bros. until recently, now I'm seeing them on lots of blogs. They're gorgeous, haven't seen your pattern before, though. I also really love your tablecloth and the beautiful napkins you embroidered.
ReplyDeleteI hope your son feels better and you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Blessings - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
I just love these plates, Mona. I used them for my tablescape now too but I mixed Queen's Thanksgiving plates with them. Your table is so beautiful...Christine
