A Surprise in the Garden

Don't you just love surprises?  I do...if they are good ones.  grin.....

This is my surprise...a beautiful water lily ..it is only the second time it has bloomed in 10 years...When we bought this house, the ponds just came along with it..I was not very interested in them...lovely to look at but not something I would have built ...they have grown on me over the years and now I am beginning to do a little bit of my own landscaping around the ponds..about time, huh??  So, to get this bloom is a sweet surprise.  I didn't plant any of the things in the pond so I don't really know what is in there...LOL  they have just been pretty...and VERY low maintenance....

These are some of the other flowers blooming this morning....oh the beauty of a flower.....

'For behold, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
'The flowers have already appeared in the land;
The name of our homeplace is Winterpast....and it is filled with flowers.  We had enough winter in our lives..and drought..now we live here in Winterpast......

I hope you enjoy these beautiful flowers and they shed a little light and joy into your life....

Please leave a few words so I will know you came by..and so I can visit you too.....

I am sharing at Marty's Inspire Me Tuesday  and also at Seasonal Sundays come and get some inspiration..you'll be glad you did...

  2. Mona, you have such beauty in your yard. I loved seeing all of the gorgeous flowers, and how wonderful that the Water Lilly bloomed again. It's spectacular. What is that white flower on very long, trailing stems? It's incredible. Love the name of your home. laurie

  10. I like surprises! I have a tiny vase and 10 plus yrs ago I put a cactus start in the vase and a hoya ( sp.) plant start. I do not know the spelling and I think that is the name of the plant. It gets a pretty pink wax flower.

    Well I put it in the bathrm. on our glass shelf. We do not have a window. It was sitting on my kitchen counter for years. And it never bloomed. To our surprise it finally bloomed.

    I really like water lilies but mine never seem to grow. Thank you for the pictures.
