The other day when I was at Goodwill, they were putting some bowls in the front display case. I asked to see one of them because the colors caught my eye.. They were beautiful and unusual...and signed on the bottom.. CREITZ..hmmm. YEP I'll take them. It only took me 33 seconds to make the decision and I was a happy camper...the price for all 6 was $15.00. So a beautiful bargain was found...
I know it is kinda late in the season to be using earth tones on the table, but I decided to set one more pottery table.
This little pitcher was made by our local potter friend Dorian Zevos.
Each bowl is different...
I used a very old bubble glass platter for the centerpiece belonged to my Grandmother.
Italian Countryside by Mikasa is my old standby china..It goes with so many different accent pieces.
I used it here.
Of course, I always like the way a table looks when there is food on the plates. so here is our salmon salad and lit candles as we tried out the new table settings....I just realized I wasn't using the bowls in this picture.
But we have used them over and over since I found them...I love a good find at the thrift store. Almost everything on the table was found while shopping at thrift stores through the years...it's amazing what can be found if you are diligent because you never know what you will find...

It's never too late or too early to set an earthy table.. Love those bowls. They are truly a great find! They look right at home on this table. The sweet jug/pitcher is a pretty piece too. Love the colors and the feel of the table.. xo marlis

Mona, I love pottery, too! I have a few pieces out, but many are packed away or have been given away. All of my Huey and Anne Wheeler pieces are out, though! I do love those bowls and the little pitcher. Your grandmother's platter is pretty spectacular, too. Love this table!
ReplyDeleteScore! Wow, what a great find! The dried flowers for your winter table are a great touch! And yes, your table looks fabulous with the plates full of that delicious looking food!

ReplyDeleteYour bowls were a nice find. I remember when there were many potters making lovely bowls and plates for all the local arts and crafts fairs. We still have our group of pieces that we bought through the years. Thanks for sharing your new find.
ReplyDeleteI just love that platter, what a treasure!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful when we find a bargain that we love to use!
