Friday Flowers #12

I have most certainly reached the day of the end of my summer garden.  I have loved it and picked it but now I am DONE with it...

I had planned to plant a fall garden with lots of greens but we will just have to see if that happens...longing for cooler weather around here.  It has been a challenging year..with the monsoons and then the extremely HOT temps.  We did get some tomatoes but nothing compared to last year's harvest.  Oh well, there's always next year....

There are still some pretty things around the place if you can look past the weeds...and I am an expert at that right now...hahaha

One of my favorite things about growing flowers is picking them and bringing them inside.....
Always, always have fresh flowers in your home....

Are you done with gardening where you live?  How has the year been for you?  As for me, I am so glad to see this little reminder that fall cannot be far away....

I hope your weekend is a peaceful, fun one..

Love,
Mona

  1. Gorgeous nature shots, ma'am.

Hate to see the end of summer but it really has been brutal. Right now it is perfect outside and I want to be in it and hold on as long as possible!

    Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.

  3. Oh, Mona, you make the best photos. I love your zinnias and I am in awe of that first pic of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail ( I think)

It's nice on the porch right now after a tiny shower. Wish we could have a steady rain all night. So dry and has been hot with no rain for us. I'm ignoring weeding that needs to be done as well as trimming. It has been a great day watching butterflies with three varieties flitting about. Got my butterfly book out and reviewed their names.
    Have a great week.

  4. Such a lovely garden to be done with...heat, especially the muggies, can get to us. We're heading into some very warm days so I'll get back to you. Thus far, it has been a bit cooler summer overall. I am still happy with the garden, but realizing that the lack of sun is getting to be problematic for many of my plants and flowers.
