Planting a Garden

My future.....Will, Marshall, and Mac....sitting on a little bench that once sat in my Mama's garden..now that is some connected history....which I love...Mama's bench, my garden, my daughter's son's.....and all on my birthday......

from Pinterest..I suppose it was a government poster form long ago....

my garden spot

basil seedlings

tomato and pepper seedligs

lettuces and arugula

hollyhocks and calendula
I am still waiting a bit before setting out tomato plants..it will be in the 30's this week and I don't want them to pout..they like warm nights...so they will stay snug in my greenhouse for about another week...and then they are going to meet the outside world..like it or not...you can only live just so long in a teeny tiny pot...time to spread their roots.....

It feels like I am in waiting mode a lot these days...timing is everything and I am trying to be patient for the right time.....

we had a family get together on Saturday which was my birthday as well as Easter weekend....I love my children and grandchildren..it made my day so very special to share it with them..I drifted off to sleep with the memory of Will and Mac running to me and throwing their arms around me and squeezing tight as soon as they saw me Sat...

the love of a child is so innocent and pure..especially when it comes from someone (s)  I love with all of my heart.

Just 2 more ...I hope you feel the joy of grandparenting from these......

well, maybe a few more...LOL

Even more important than any vegetable garden I ever plant are the seeds of love I plant in the hearts of these little men..the ones that will grow and produce a good crop..and they will always know I am their best cheerleader besides their parents....

Now, I understand the look I always saw in my Grandmother's eyes....pure love......and how she felt it.....

thank you for stopping by today..I hope to see you again soon.....

  1. Mona, I admit to a wee ray of envy over your green house. Your seedlings are gorgeous. so much potential not unlike that darling boys. Hope you had a lovely Easter. Our church service was fabulous, I cried as always. God's grace and mercy does overflow. hugs, olive
